What do social housing, blockchain, data centres, music royalties and art have in common? They are all reshaping the way investors think about diversification and value creation.

On 25 June 2026, Mathias Flattin joined Real Assets and Other Investment Strategies, an LPEA conference exploring emerging and non-traditional investment themes through an educational, forward-looking lens, kindly hosted by Banque Internationale a Luxembourg.

He shared the panel with Quentin Werle of 6 Monks, Gustavo Ljungberg of NextBlock VC, Elie N. of Vauban Infrastructure Partners, Stephen Otter of Partners Group, Adriano Picinati di Torcello of Deloitte and Jonas Hoglund of Arte Collectum, each setting out the rationale, the opportunities and the trends driving these evolving asset classes.

For Crayon Partners, the question was a simple one: what does it take for residential rent-to-own to be underwritten as an asset class rather than treated as a social programme.
